About the Role

At The Plot Twist, we are passionate about romance books and the joy of reading. We are a community-focused independent bookstore that offers a wide range of romance books, from bestsellers to local author hidden gems. We believe in providing an exceptional customer experience and are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Bookseller to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:
Frontline staff who assist customers with book recommendations, process sales and help maintain the store's appearance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist customers with book recommendations and inquiries.
• Maintain knowledge of current inventory and new arrivals.
• Ensure shelves are stocked, organized, and clean.
• Process sales transactions and handle cash register.
• Create displays and organize promotions to attract customers.
• Participate in store events and community outreach programs.
• Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for every customer.
• Assist in the receiving and unpacking of shipments.
• Maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications:
• Passion for Books: A deep love for romance novels and an enthusiasm for recommending great reads to customers.
• Customer Service Experience: Friendly, approachable, and able to engage with customers in a warm and helpful manner.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to recommend books, answer questions, and engage in meaningful conversations about literature.
• Attention to Detail: Keep the store organized, maintain displays, and ensure books are properly stocked and categorized.
• Team Player: Collaborative attitude with a willingness to work with others to create a positive store environment.
• Retail Experience (Preferred): Previous experience in a retail setting is a plus, but not required.
• Organization Skills: Ability to manage the store’s inventory, process transactions, and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Positive Attitude: A love for creating an inviting atmosphere and helping customers feel at home in the store.
Flexibility: Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
